Founded on 17th December 2009, Yanni Rice Specialist Ltd began with a clear vision — to bring quality and trusted food essentials to every Mauritian home.
Under the leadership of Mr. Anand Ajoodha, who has over 35 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, Yanni started as a small but determined distribution company. From its early days supplying rice and flour on behalf of the State Trading Corporation (STC), the company steadily grew into a household name known for reliability, trust, and quality.
Over time, Yanni expanded its operations, becoming a key distributor for major supermarket chains such as Winners, Intermart, Way, Jumbo, and Super U. Today, our portfolio includes over 15 leading brands of Basmati and non-Basmati rice, sugar, pulses, milk powder, oil, salt, tomato puree, and other essential food items — proudly serving households across Mauritius.
With a turnover of approximately Rs 600 million, Yanni continues to grow and diversify, driven by passion, commitment, and a dedication to excellence
